Girl 6 escapes attempted abduction at a McDonald's (Photo: Facebook)
A 6-year-old girl has escaped an attempted abduction at a McDonald's in Waverly before being reunited with her family.
The 5-year-old female was allegedly abducted Tuesday afternoon after leaving the store at 930 PM. Her parents had been visiting from Indiana, police said.
McDonald's released the following statement about the incident and security cameras:
"McDonald's was immediately notified when we received reports of a 5 year old child inside a vehicle on the drive to another location. We immediately called our local police. During the investigation, police learned that a 6-year old child had been abducted from a McDonald's. Police have located the vehicle in which the child was located. The child was unhurt and the driver has been taken into custody. We apologize for any inconvenience caused."

On Wednesday morning, the mother told Channel 2 Action News she was glad to have her daughter with her. "We're very proud of her. She definitely deserves it. She just wants to play and make new friends," said Amanda Deen, who called the child a "great kid."
She told Channel 2's Chris Jones that when she walked into the restaurant about 9:30 Tuesday she found a child on the floor near the exit, covered in blood. Her 2-year-old son walked up to the mother, screaming and telling her to hurry and call for help. The child looked through Deen's purse before calling her.
"She asked me why the girl looked so traumatized. I told her she wanted to know why. She looked so sad. It was my mom, a young mother," Deen said.
Deen's husband was also at the McDonald's when the child walked in. "This child is innocent. It's a child who's being abused every day in this city, and now I just want her to stay safe in my care. That's what I'm most worried about," said Deen.
Deen says she spoke to the children about what happened, and then took the child to the hospital.
It's a good sign that someone found the child — she said her baby brother is fine — but it's really more good news that her husband saw the child in the hospital.

Brisbane airport profit to benefit hospitals fraser and the airport industry

The Queensland Government is taking the lead on medical productivity to encourage greater productivity across hospitals, says Health Minister John Rau.
The Government has committed $20 million to the new Health Performance Network which will lead to improved medical productivity across Queensland hospitals.
"Today we announced a range of actions to help support the success of health systems, like health and social care, in delivering innovative medicines," Health Minister John Rau said.
Health Minister Mr Rau has said he plans to announce another $10 million over four years by the end of the year.
There will be a $300 million public health infrastructure investment fund to make health systems more efficient, and new research and testing will help doctors to deliver better medical care.
He said the Government is committed to supporting innovation, and cutting down on unnecessary care.
"We're committed to the future of health systems and the future of life," Mr Rau said.
Dr Hymans Dr John Hymans has been involved with the Health Performance Network, and was one of nine people recommended to help the Government identify innovative solutions.
"The Network is a collaborative process whereby hospitals, and the Government as a whole, participate in determining how best to implement initiatives and achieve national progress," Dr Hymans said.
Mr Rau says the Government's focus will continue to be efficiency and reducing costs to hospitals.
"In recent years we've managed to reduce costs in health systems, which is fantastic because we're on track to reach our target of cutting costs for government hospitals by 3 per cent this financial year," he said.
"We have also helped bring about a reduction in the number of people on Medi-Cal.
"It's taken some time, but it's worked."
